Information for the next grant round
The amount of funding available is limited for 2024–25 due to the current economic climate which has impacted AGMARDT fund returns. Additionally, the structure of the science system in New Zealand is under review, which has reduced government research funding and increased demand for AGMARDT funding.
AGMARDT grant rounds are therefore significantly oversubscribed this year. Applicants for 2024–25 grant rounds should note that proposals seeking a large proportion of the total funding available must show greater potential to broadly benefit New Zealand than almost all other proposals. It is more likely that Trustees will distribute funding to a wider range of projects that request a smaller amount of funding.
